Terms of use
Effective 8 September 2026.
By using workstylecompass.com or completing WorkStyle Compass™ on a partner site, you agree to these terms.
What WorkStyle Compass is
WorkStyle Compass is a work-style matching tool: a structured set of 48 either/or questions and a method for summarising the answers as a reading and a named profile. It describes preferences. It is not a psychological, personality or psychometric assessment, does not measure ability, aptitude or character, makes no scientific or predictive claim, and is not professional advice of any kind.
How it may be used
A reading may be used to inform a conversation about how someone works. It may not be used as the sole basis for any decision about employment, admission, funding, promotion or dismissal, and may not be presented to anyone as a measure of ability or a prediction of performance. Partners that use WorkStyle Compass agree to these limits in writing.
Intellectual property
WorkStyle Compass™, the four-directions framework, the 48 pairs, the twelve profile names and descriptions, and this website are the property of Four Directions. You may quote from this site with attribution. You may not reproduce the questionnaire for commercial use, build a derivative tool from it, or remove the disclaimers, without written permission.
Accounts and accuracy
Partner sites operate their own accounts and logins. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you provide there. You may complete the Compass more than once; the newest reading is treated as current.
No warranty and limitation
The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Four Directions is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a reading. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the laws of Ontario or your place of residence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
